6th - 11th July - Back in Thailand

We planned to head down to Ko Samet, a small island not far from Bangkok,for a few days loafing before leaving Thailand for Singapore - so we were on a minibus when we heard the shocking news about the awful attacks in London. Luckily we had a TV with BBC World in our room and were able to text home. We watched non-stop the first night and couldn't believe what we were watching. I had a very strange feeling of just wanting to be at home as we were doing what I'm sure everyone else was; worrying about everyone they know and love. Then the next morning there was no power on the island until late afternoon, so we did get out for a bit (- until it rained!)

It seems that the emergency services have been doing a fantastic job in the horrific circumstances.
